Ricky Stenhouse, Jr., an Olive Branch, Miss. native, was born on Oct. 2, 1987 and is a development driver for Roush-Fenway Racing.
He ran the entire ARCA Re/Max series last year and finished fourth in the final points. He had a very successful rookie year with three wins—Pocono, Chicagoland, and his first career victory at Kentucky on May 11.
Stenhouse also had 10 top-fives and 14 top-10s. Ricky comes from the USAC Silver Crown Cars where he earned five main event wins in a Tony Stewart Racing USAC car.
Ricky has also raced in the National Sprint Cars, National Midget Series, and Go-Karts. This season he will add NASCAR Nationwide Series, racing seven races in the No. 16 Citi Financial Ford.
He will share the ride with Greg Biffle, Jamie McMurray, and the Camping World Truck Series reigning Raybestos Rookie of the Year, Colin Braun.
Ricky has the raw talent to be a star in NASCAR someday, and with Roush equipment the possibilities are endless.
I mean, look at the guy's bosses: Tony Stewart and now Jack Roush. I'm sure he's learned a lot!
I can see Ricky with a bright future in this sport, and I'll be rooting him on!
