Report: Stephen Curry Set To Have Surgery on Injured Ankle Wednesday

Andrew KulhaJun 7, 2018

It's been a rough year for Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry, and it doesn't look like it's going to get any better anytime soon.

Curry has been dealing with an injury to his right ankle for a majority of the year, having sprained it a shocking four times this season.

He hasn't played a game since March 11th and only totaled 26 games played this season. He did average 14.3 points, 5.3 assist and 3.4 rebounds per game, though, while out on the court for the Warriors.

You know what they say: Sometimes it's got to get worse before it gets better, and that seems to be the case in regards to Curry's injured right ankle.

According to Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports, Curry will have to undergo surgery on Wednesday.

Warriors.com also reports on the surgery, stating that it will be "exploratory in nature."

The timetable for his return is not set yet, but with the NBA season being near finished and the Warriors being far out of the playoffs, it's safe to assume that Curry will take his time in the offseason to fully heal.

He boasts career averages of 17.5 points, 5.8 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game in three years in the NBA. When healthy, he's one of the more efficient young guards in the game, so it's imperative that the Warriors get him back on track.
