UFC 145: Jon Jones vs. Rashad Evans Drinking Game
UFC 145 emanates from Atlanta, Georgia this Saturday and many of us will find our ways to celebrate the return of a high-profile UFC card.
The card features a host of exciting fights capped off by the most anticipated grudge match in recent UFC memory: Jon Jones vs. Rashad Evans for the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship.
Here at Bleacher Report the analysis of the fight card has been broken down for everyone from every possible angle. Now it is time to sit back and enjoy the fights at your local sports bar, on your comfortable couch or at a UFC party with all your friends. And these rules have been created to assist in your enjoyment.
Drink one... each time Mike Goldberg is not back to the mic in time after taking a bathroom break. How will you know? Listen for Joe Rogan's cue. He created it. Typically you hear Goldberg talk during the entrances, but when he is late to the party there is usually a brief pause with dead air and then Rogan tries to take over until he returns.
Drink one... for each knockout and submission on the card. There are plenty of fights that should be finished. Mismatches, power strikers and quality submission artists litter the card.
Drink one... when a fighter has brazenly put his own face on his banner. This growing trend is a nice addition to the game.
Drink one... every time you hear “he's rocked”. With several heavy-hitters on the card you can expect to take a few drinks with this one.
Drink one... for Chad Griggs' amazing chops. Consider it a tribute drink. They are impressive. Kudos to Chad Griggs.
Finish your drink before the pay-per-view broadcast begins... WHEN JOE ROGAN AND DANA WHITE YELL AT YOU AT THE END OF THE PRELIMINARY CARD ON FX. THEY ARE TRYING TO GET YOU TO ORDER THE PPV THAT YOU HAVE ALREADY ORDERED. LOUD NOISES.
Drink one... each time Brenden Schaub's NFL past is brought up. Because being a member of the Buffalo Bills practice squad is deserving of being mentioned time and time again.
Drink one... each time Rory MacDonald is compared to GSP. The Tri-Star standout has been routinely compared to his teammate and UFC Welterweight Champion on UFC broadcasts and don't expect it to stop on Saturday.
Drink one... every time Greg Jackson is mentioned. One of the centerpieces of the Jones and Evans fractured relationship he will surely be brought up numerous times.
Drink one... when you hear just how athletic and explosive an African-American fighter is. With Jon Jones and Rashad Evans in the main event you may want to apologize to your liver beforehand.
Finish your drink... if Jon Jones is compared to Muhammad Ali. It has been brought up a few times in the lead-up to the fight and it makes virtually no sense. Despite the attempted correlation between the two athletes it does not help Jones' perception in the eyes of fans. So, if you hear it just finish your beverage and maybe make a call to AA.
There you have the rules leading up to tomorrow night's PPV. The UFC's return with a major card will be one to remember... if you can.
