Jessica Dorrell and Bobby Petrino Affair Reportedly Began with Kiss Last Fall

It started with a kiss.

No, I'm not talking about a Taiwanese soap opera. I'm talking about the illicit relationship between former Arkansas football head coach Bobby Petrino and mistress-turned-employee Jessica Dorrell.

According to CBSSports.com, Petrino told Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long during a conversation on April 10th that his affair with Dorrell began last October, when the two shared a kiss while talking and eating lunch in a car. By Petrino's account, it was Dorrell who first prompted to intimate contact.

Petrino also claimed that his relationship with Dorrell ceased to be sexual at some point in February, when they decided that it'd be best if they were just friends, well before Petrino hired Dorrell to the football department in March.

But, this was after sharing nearly 300 phone calls and exchanging more than 4,300 text messages through Petrino's business phone.

Petrino was fired earlier this month for misleading the university about the existence and nature of his relationship with Dorrell, which came to the fore after the two were involved in a motorcycle cycle accident shortly after Dorrell was hired.

The coach allegedly showered Dorrell with a number of gifts during their relationship, including a $20,000 transfer that she used to pay for a new car.

Dorrell has since resigned her post with the Razorbacks, after which point she received $14,000 in settlement funds.
