College Football 2012: Aaron Lynch Might Be Headed to USF After All
There was plenty of speculation about where former Notre Dame stud defensive end Aaron Lynch might end up, and most of it swirled around South Florida.
Well, it looks like the speculation is being confirmed...sort of. Spencer Boyd, a safety for the USF Bulls that also used to suit up for the Irish, recently tweeted:
"#USFNation show love and follow my bro @tHa_Killa_19 ! He'll be joining the USF family in the summer! Big addition to the team!
— Spencer Boyd (@S_Boyd31) April 19, 2012"
That's a very brief and informal reveal for the future of Aaron Lynch. We will keep you posted on the events of the transfer, as Lynch is absolutely going to be a tremendous addition to whatever team he ends up on.
South Florida most certainly could use Lynch, as their ball club's linemen are dropping like flies. Just this week, defensive tackle Cory Grissom went down with a fractured fibula and defensive end Anthony Hill tore his ACL. Suddenly, the Bulls have lost some big pieces along the defensive line.
Unfortunately, barring some sort of a miraculous NCAA waiver, which rarely come on the whims of the NCAA power brokers, Lynch won't be able to suit up for the Bulls in 2012.
Instead, the rising sophomore would be forced to redshirt this season and play in 2013 as a redshirt sophomore. Lynch would be eligible for the NFL draft after the 2013 season as well. If there is confirmation, we will be sure to keep you updated here at Your Best 11!
