WWE News: WWE Hall of Famer Edge's Contract Set to Expire Soon

Edge is without a doubt one of the greatest WWE superstars of all time, and throughout his iconic career in the WWE, he has had his share of controversy.

But soon, the WWE Hall of Famer and multiple-time world champion may stir up some more controversy in the professional wrestling world.

According to a report from PWInsider.com, Edge's contract with the WWE is set to expire on May 1^st 2012, making him a free agent, essentially able to go to any professional wrestling promotion he wishes.

The site has also reported that Edge has a close friendship with Hulk Hogan, and obviously TNA would welcome Edge with open arms if he ever decided to jump ship to join them.  If that were the case, Hogan would most likely do everything he could to bring the "Rated-R Superstar" in.

Edge has been an in-ring performer with the WWE since 1997, so it would be very interesting to see him with another professional wrestling promotion such as TNA or Ring of Honor. But there is a good chance that Edge will re-sign with the WWE.

Edge was the centerpiece for the WWE's Hall of Fame Induction Class of 2012, along with The Four Horsemen and Mike Tyson on the 31^st of March. Many wrestling fans were excited to see Edge being inducted into the Hall of Fame, although other fans thought the induction was too soon, considering he retired from in-ring action after WrestleMania XXVII due to spinal stenosis.

Wrestling fans will just have to wait and see what happens after the 1^st of May. Will Edge re-sign with the WWE or jump ship to another professional wrestling promotion?
