2012 NFL Draft: 4 Potential Steals for the Baltimore Ravens

Cooper AllenJun 7, 2018

Sitting with the 29th overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft, the Baltimore Ravens are not in a position to get one of the highly-touted prospects like Justin Blackmon or Michael Floyd.

With several needs to fill, the Ravens scouting staff should be looking at a few under-the-radar prospects that can be had in the later rounds in the draft.

There are several players that would be considered steals if they fell to Baltimore in certain rounds of the draft.

Highlighted over the next few slides are four players that the Baltimore Ravens should try to “steal” from their opponents in the upcoming draft.

Ryan Broyles

1 of 4

Oklahoma Sooners wide receiver Ryan Broyles saw his draft stock go down significantly after tearing his ACL this past season. However, he showed that his knee is fully recovered after a solid pro day. Broyles ran a 4.57 40-yard dash and did 21 bench press reps.

Baltimore may, and likely will, target a receiver in the first round, but they could still use another one for insurance.

Broyles’ injury could turn out to be great for the Ravens, as he would be a steal if they could land him in the fifth round.

Emmanuel Acho

2 of 4

Brother of Arizona Cardinals rookie Sam Acho, Emmanuel Acho played linebacker for the University of Texas in 2011, recording 131 tackles in 13 games. He can play both inside and outside linebacker and is said to be the better of the two brothers.

Acho was all over the field for Texas last year, and if his work ethic is anything close to his brother's, then he would be great friends with Ray Lewis and will be a stud in the NFL.

Terrance Ganaway

3 of 4

With most of the attention on Robert Griffin III and Kendall Wright, Baylor running back Terrance Ganaway has slipped down to the sixth round on most draft boards.

Baltimore has one of the best backs in the game in Ray Rice; however, the league is turning into a two-back and even a three-back league.

Use the run to set up the pass and take pressure off of Joe Flacco. Terrance Ganaway in the sixth round would be a huge steal for the Ravens and would allow them to run the football 30-plus times a game.

Trumaine Johnson

4 of 4

Montana defensive back Trumaine Johnson has risen up a lot of draft boards as of late, currently standing with a second- to third-round draft grade.

If Johnson is available by the time the Ravens are on the clock at the end of the second round, then he is someone that they need to take.

Baltimore needs a young guy behind Ed Reed who will be capable of taking over when he retires. Johnson will benefit greatly from watching Reed play and could turn into one of the league’s better defensive backs a few years down the road.
