2012 NFL Draft: Teams Sure to Win by Trading Down
NFL draft day trades always have a way of bringing out a wide range of emotions: happiness, anger, denial, frustration and shock.
The Cleveland Browns shocked the world by trading their No. 6 overall pick to the Atlanta Falcons last year, which the Falcons used on promising young receiver Julio Jones.
The Browns used the Falcons' No. 21 pick to grab defensive tackle Phil Taylor, which ended up being a solid pick.
Who will turn the tables this year?
Read on.
The Seahawks have the No. 12 overall pick in this year's draft. I currently have them addressing their pass rush with Quinton Coples, but his character concerns worry me. I say the Seahawks trade down and get another pass-rusher while collecting draft picks. There is a nice crop of pass-rushers this season.
The Cardinals have the No. 13 overall pick this year. Offensive tackle Jonathan Martin is a stretch there in my mind, so I currently have the Cardinals grabbing Notre Dame receiver Michael Floyd to pair up with Larry Fitzgerald. But I also like Baylor's Kendall Wright a lot.
I would trade down, grab Wright and be very, very happy.
It honestly hurts my brain hearing NFL.com reports that the Dolphins might grab Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill at No. 8 overall. He's a fringe first-rounder in my mind. I say trade down if the Dolphins want to select him. They could acquire a wealth of draft picks if they traded down.
