Robert Griffin III's Attitude, Game Questioned by NFL Scouts

Field YatesJun 5, 2018

Up to this point, it's been pretty much a flawless pre-draft run for Robert Griffin III.

It started when he won the Heisman Trophy, and has essentially escalated from there. Griffin nailed the combine and his pro day and has apparently wowed in interviews he has conducted with teams.

In fact, he was so impressive that Kansas City Chiefs general manager Scott Pioli proclaimed he wishes his daughter will one day marry a guy like him.

However, as it turns out, not everyone is so infatuated with Griffin. Recent comments from various NFL scouts called both his game and attitude into question, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

One scout thinks Griffin struggles in two critical areas relating to quarterback play:

"

I don't think he has vision or pocket feel, which to me are the two most important components of quarterbacking. He's just running around winging it. He's (Michael) Vick, but not as good a thrower.

"

Meanwhile, another scout suggests that the perception many have of Griffin being as selfless and amicable as he comes across on television may be off-base:

"

He's got a little bit of a selfish streak, too. Everybody was laying on Cam (Newton), but for some reason this guy has become gloves off. He doesn't treat anybody good.

"

Make of all this what you will, as it's natural to hear differing opinions leading up to the draft.  I'd suggest reading the article, authored by Bob McGinn. It's his annual quarterback write-up prior to the draft, and it's a must-read in my eyes.
