World Football Strange but True: Cristiano Ronaldo Gets Some New Bavarian Shoes
For most people, Bavaria is a magical place.
Beautiful blonde belles yodel in mountain passes, women willingly dress themselves as beer maids for no real reason, guys have the option to wear suspenders and lederhosen every day, and, well, there's all that beer.
For Cristiano Ronaldo, though, not so much.

See, the Portugal international lost three pairs of shoes in Bavaria. Indeed, just before Real Madrid's 2-1 loss to Bayern Munich this week, it seems Ronaldo and his buddies were robbed.
From the Daily Mail:
"Real Madrid have lodged a complaint with UEFA after star players had their boots stolen ahead of their Champions League semi-final clash with Bayern Munich.
Cristiano Ronaldo had three pairs nicked while Karim Benzema and Mesut Ozil, who scored Madrid's goal in the 2-1 defeat, were also victims of the Allianz Arena thief.
Some shirts were also taken from Real's dressing room before the game.
"
Aww. Poor Ronnie.
Take heart, though, Real supporters. A German disc jockey has come forward to make things right.
According to The Sun, Stephan Lehmann has sent Ronaldo a pair of traditional Bavarian shoes to make up for his misfortune.
Lehmann is Bayern's stadium announcer, according to The Sun.
If you ask me, this sounds like a bit of a prank.
To wit, check out what Lehmann wrote in his note to Ronaldo:
"Hospitable people live here in Bavaria. We may steal maypoles but not shoes.
We therefore wanted to replace what you lost. Here are a pair of genuine Bavarian brogues for you.
With them you won’t score any goals but you will look really snazzy.
"
If that's not a bit of a nudge-nudge, wink-wink taunt, then I'm a monkey's uncle. If you ask me, Lehmann knows something.
Anyway, the only thing that could make all this better is if the shoes look like this.
Yes, that's exactly what I picture Cristiano wearing as he scales the Alps in sub-zero temperatures.
