Oh my.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have released their 80th anniversary throwback jerseys, and they are, in a word, unique.

You may recall the most recent round of Steelers throwback jerseys, first debuted during their 75th anniversary season five years ago, which featured a minimalistic gold-numbers-on-black-jersey design with simple gold helmets.

This time around, they're throwing it back even farther, with wide black-and-gold striped jerseys featuring oversized squared-off numbers, what appears to be light gold pants and more stripes—this time on the socks, in a homage to their 1934 uniforms.

The look certainly isn't going to blend in, and it has a certain "killer bee" aesthetic that will likely have the team subject to ridicule from fans and foes alike.

But it's certainly a departure and a gutsy move. Yes, the Blind Melon (and Stryper) jokes are already flying.

What's your take on the new Steelers throwbacks? Do you love them or hate them, and would you consider buying one? Leave your comment below.
