Sweet Asante Is an Eagle: What Next???
As many of you may already know Asante Samuel has signed a six year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles worth $57 million. Along with the talent he provides on defense, he brings with him Super Bowl experience (2 super bowl rings), 16 interceptions in two years, and an opportunity to lead his new team to glory.
As the press conference went on today, all I could think of, was how good he will look in that midnight green jersey once the season comes back around. Defensive Coordinator, Jim Johnson must be ecstatic to get help at the corner back position, even though he had two-time pro-bowler, Lito Sheppard, and Sheldon Brown. Both of which have been injury prone and have left the Eagles high, and dry over the last couple seasons.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
As Andy Reid said, "This day is about Asante and no one else, so I don't want to talk about anyone else but Asante today." You know what Andy? You were right. That day did belong to Asante, and it should have but just don't lose focus on the rest of the available free agents because of this.
We still have to realize, that just because we signed the top free agent in this year's market, doesn't mean that this team is ready to go to the top. They are certainly headed in the right direction now, but you just can't say they are going to win the Super Bowl all of a sudden. So with that being said, we must think of how the Eagles can continue to help themselves before the draft. Here are two things I think the Eagles can do to make their draft an easier experience ...
1. Try to sign a wide receiver (WR):
Listen, the Eagles just can't wait for the draft, and expect to get lucky and come out with one of the top prospects. I'm not saying it's a bad draft for WR's this year.
Before you go for a rookie, try to sign a veteran like Bernard Berrian or Mussin Muhammed. If the WR we pick doesn't work out, we have something to fall back on later in the year.
2. Try to sign a defensive end (DE):
This is the same scenario. The Eagles should try to get someone with experience so that they have more options at training camp. Remember, it won't hurt to try and find a "Diamond in the Rough" in the free agent market this year. Players such as Antwan Odom, Travis LaBoy, or Justin Smith could be good fits for Philly.
