NFL Draft 2012: Hot Prospects That Will Form Dynamic Duos
Which 2012 NFL draft prospects would formulate wonderful tandems with already established professionals?
Julio Jones and Roddy White have the potential to be quite the dynamic duo in Atlanta. How about Aldon Smith and Justin Smith in San Francisco? Think Ryan Kerrigan and Brian Orakpo have a bright future in D.C.?
I do.
There are loads of tremendous possibilities in Round 1 of this year's draft—let's take a look.
Michael Floyd and Stevie Johnson
Stevie Johnson has been the Bills' go-to target over the last two seasons, eclipsing the 1,000-yard receiving mark in 2010 and 2011.
However, was he a legitimate playmaker last season? He only had one game with more than 100 receiving yards.
Johnson's quite the talented kid, but an additional and supremely talented wideout would significantly benefit the Bills' offense.
Floyd's that guy.
At 6'3'' and 220 pounds, he can physically outmatch many cornerbacks and become a downfield threat Buffalo's been lacking for a while. His bigger frame and surprising athleticism make him a great yards-after-the-catch option.
Stephon Gilmore and Leon Hall
Hall is returning from a crushing Achilles tendon injury and there's a chance he's lost a step. However, he's still a quality corner with great instincts and athleticism to make Sunday afternoon a troubling time for the receiver he's covering.
Gilmore's a rangy, in-your-face defensive back who loves making his presence felt against the run. He allows his athletic talents and ball skills to make an impact in the secondary.
If the South Carolina standout lands in Cincinnati, playing the Bengals will be a real drag for wide receivers. Don't forget about Pacman Jones, either.
Dont'a Hightower and Lawrence Timmons
For the sake of old-school football, please let these two stalwarts be on the same roster. Timmons is emerging as one of the best 3-4 inside linebackers in football.
He's only 25, but has racked up 248 tackles over the last two years with five sacks, four forced fumbles and three interceptions.
Timmons is seemingly around the football on every play.
Now that James Farrior is gone, Timmons could use another thumping linebacker next to him to really eat up running backs on first and second down.
Hello, Mr. Hightower.
The 265-pound beast isn't a sideline-to-sideline guy, but he's quick off the ball and is an intimidating hitter.
Doesn't it just seem like he belongs in Pittsburgh?
