James Storm and the 5 Contenders for the TNA World Title
I am still trying to catch my breath.
Now that we know the Super Kick can hurt you as much as your opponent when you use it to win a match, James Storm must regroup.
He must get a title shot again, however.
He and other contenders will be breathing down Bobby Roode's neck starting Thursday, and while there are plenty of contenders, Storm still seems like the logical choice to continue the barrage on his former tag-team partner.
But, as you know, there are others who are worthy as well. Here is a look at five of them.
Jeff Hardy
1 of 6The way he has come back to the company and really put it all together is impressive. I was not on board when I saw that he was being given a title push immediately, but it works.
Hardy is a crowd favorite and brings his best stuff to the ring. He should still be a main-eventer.
And a program for the world title is still within his sights.
Crimson
2 of 6Now that he has turned heel, does he get the push he so desires?
I think the Television Title would look good around his waist, and then he could move on to the world gold. But TNA and wrestling have a way of taking wrestlers and making them instant champions.
Making Crimson a champion now might not be a good thing—Storm/Roode is too hot right now, and that would distract from the feud. Having him as a contender, though, would certainly make things interesting.
Get him in a main-event program.
A.J. Styles
3 of 6This may be a high ranking for Styles, but he is still the best performer in the company, and a program for the world title is money when he is concerned.
Styles does things we have seen for years, and we are still amazed by it.
The aerial moves and the ground game make him the total package. Whether he is battling Daniels and Kazarian, Mr. Anderson, Bully Ray or someone one else, it will be a treat to see TNA's MVP try and grab another world title.
Austin Aries
4 of 6The second coming of A.J. Styles.
I love his character and his "chutzpah" when he gets in the ring.
The program with Bully Ray is intriguing. Big man vs. Little man and Arrogance vs. Antagonist.
Aries has a chance to be the best in a very short time if writers script it correctly and other wrestlers sell for him.
He could very well be a champ by the end of the year.
James Storm
5 of 6How he lost that match still amazes me.
But James Storm will have his day again.
After giving the fans a great match, TNA is onto something. Taking this feud away would do more harm than good.
Storm and Roode will pass the title back and forth for a while.
Bully Ray
6 of 6It's time...
Whether he is the one that came out Lockdown in the title match or not, it is time.
Heel vs. Face or Heel vs. Heel, I love Bully Ray's character in TNA.
I love the fact he gets in everyone's business regardless of position in the company. And I love that he is the enforcer this brand needed.
So many good things have come from him turning heel that it would be a waste to let him wallow around without a title shot.
