Simeon Thoresen and Besam Yousef put on a highly entertaining battle at UFC on Fuel 2, with both guys showing a ton of heart and stamina in a very fast paced bout.

What We’ll Remember About This Fight:
Both guys came to fight in this one.
In an early fight of the night contender, Thoresen and Yousef both put on a show for the fans, but Thoresen ended up pulling out the victory.
The finish was entertaining as well, as Thoresen had three separate chokes locked in before he secured the fight-ending submission.
What We Learned About Simeon Thoresen
He was the favorite going into the bout for a reason, and he ended up proving that his technique was as good as advertised.
It wasn’t a flawless performance by any means, but it showed that Thoresen has the skills to compete in the ultra-tough UFC welterweight division. Also, he demonstrated how his fantastic submission skills make him a prospect to watch.
What We Learned About Besam Yousef
The first Swedish fighter to appear on the card, Yousef had the full support of the home country crowd behind him, and they seemed to energize him as the fight went on.
Yousef was very aggressive and landed a few solid combinations, but he was clearly out matched on the ground and it ended up costing him a shot at the upset.
That said, Yousef looked relatively good in his UFC debut, and his go for broke style is going to earn him a lot of fans if he’s able to stick around.
What’s Next For Simeon Thoresen
The winner of the fight between Papy Abedi and James Head set later on the card would make a lot of sense.
What’s Next For Besam Yousef
Preferably a UFC newcomer, as Yousef needs to gain some Octagon experience before taking on an established UFC veteran.
