NFC South Morning Jog: Matt Ryan Shares Offseason Goals in Radio Interview

Knox BardeenJun 7, 2018

Each morning, I like to start the day off with a workout—usually a morning jog. I can clear my head, plan my day and think about what's going on around the NFC South.

Atlanta Falcons

On Thursday I wrote why I felt the Falcons would not agree to do HBO's Hard Knocks. Scott Carasik decided to talk about why the team should choose to open its doors.

Matt Ryan appeared on 790 the Zone Thursday and spoke about new offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter, the possibility of HBO's Hard Knocks coming to town and some of his offseason workout goals. The Falcons will open up offseason workouts in Flowery Branch on April 23.

Carolina Panthers

The Panthers re-signed backup linebacker Jordan Senn on Thursday. Bryan Strickland wrote that Senn had two 14-tackle games over the final month of the 2011 season and will provide much-needed injury protection for the linebacker corps.

Cam Newton advanced to the Final Four of the Madden 2012 Cover Vote. He's up against Patrick Willis in the semis and could move on to face either Aaron Rodgers or Calvin Johnson.

New Orleans

Now that Joe Vitt has been announced as Sean Payton's interim head coach, the Saints have to find someone to fill in for Vitt during his six-week suspension to start the season. Pat Yasinskas said offensive line coach Aaron Kromer is a "logical fit."

During a radio interview, Malcolm Jenkins talked about being frustrated in the aftermath of the bounty scandal because he feels the defense hasn't had the opportunity to voice its thoughts yet.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

New wide receiver Vincent Jackson likes what he's been hearing from the offensive coaching staff and compares his first few weeks at One Buc Place to acclimating to a new school. [Video]

The Buccaneers will finally hit the field next week for three days after a few weeks in the classroom. Rick Stroud wrote that "competition will be open at nearly every position."
