WWE's Worst Match of the Week: 6-Person Mixed Tag Match on Tuesday's SmackDown

Drake OzJun 7, 2018

There were a lot of really bad WWE matches this week.

In fact, I’d even go so far as to say that this one of the worst weeks wrestling-wise that the WWE has had in the past decade.

Yeah, it was that bad.

Lord Tensai squashed Yoshi Tatsu in a boring two-minute match on Raw, which also featured that one-minute Kofi Kingston vs. Cody Rhodes match and that awful main event between David Otunga and John Cena

Then, on SmackDown, Ryback squashed a random jobber in about 20 seconds, Jim Duggan vs. Hunico hardly even qualified as a match, and "Mean" Gene Okerlund actually competed in the main event.

Those were all absolutely terrible, sure—but none compared to the awfulness that came with SmackDown’s six-person mixed tag-team match.

In some of the most random pairings ever, The Great Khali, Natalya and Alicia Fox teamed up to take on Drew McIntyre and the Bella Twins.

The match started off with McIntyre and Khali (no!), but McIntyre quickly tagged out, quit his team and left ringside, saying repeatedly, "I’m better than this."

I agree, Drew, I agree.

After McIntyre tagged out, Nikki Bella came in and was quickly pinned by Alicia. This lasted less than a minute.

Yeah, that was it.

So, instead of giving this TV time to Divas who deserve to have an actual match or to a couple of mid-carders who can’t work their way onto TV, the WWE decided to book a mixed tag-team "match" that was all done to build up to Khali kissing Mae Young.

What a freakin’ joke.

Note: As part of the new WWE blog, I'll be asking all of the B/R wrestling readers for questions for a new mailbag that I will post on Fridays. It will be a slideshow featuring 10-to-20 questions and answers on a wide range of topics. You can submit questions either through Formspring or Twitter, and the best ones will be answered in the B/R mailbag.
