Main Event Preview and Prediction
Bobby Roode (c) vs. James Storm
With two former tag-team partners from the days of Beer Money, TNA World Heavyweight Champion Bobby Roode and No. 1 contender James Storm know each other like the back of their hand.
The relationship the duo have shared in the wrestling business will be enough to make this match something of epic proportions. Just like Sabu and Rob Van Dam, when a team works together for long enough, their one-on-one matches become amazing.
TNA is hoping that by finally going with a main event consisting of two home-grown stars, they will prove that there is still life left in the stagnant brand.
What They’re Saying
Kurt Angle is talking about Lockdown and his commitment to training for it on Twitter:
"I Must focus On TNA and Lockdown Ppv, Which Has Always Been My 1st Priority. I Hope to Be Able to Put On the Best Performance I Can.
— Kurt Angle (@RealKurtAngle) April 12, 2012"
Surprise, surprise; Hulk Hogan is burying the talent on Twitter again:
"LOCKDOWN PPV this Sunday, last year was crazy and I can't imaging this Sunday how far the talent is go to top last years LOCKDOWN.HH
— Hulk Hogan (@HulkHogan) April 12, 2012"
While TNA usually disappoints us, they are at least doing something good for the Nashville community:
"TNA will host a food drive this Sunday at #Lockdown in Nashville - fans are encouraged to bring donations! More info: tiny.cc/iwnncw
— IMPACT WRESTLING (@IMPACTWRESTLING) April 12, 2012"
Undercard Match to Watch
Magnus and Samoa Joe (c) vs. The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin)
While most of the card is just mediocre, the real gem of this card is the tag battle between the Motor City Machine Guns and Samoa Joe and Magnus.
WWE needs to take note on how the tag division should be run, as they push four of the most talented men in the company in a fantastic match that should see plenty of great spots and chain wrestling.
If you are as much of a fan as technical wrestling as you are storytelling, you need to pay attention to this match no matter what WWE has trained you to do when you hear the words ”tag-team match.”
