Los Angeles Lakers: Andrew Bynum Grabs 30 Boards, Then Curses on Live TV
The theme for Andrew Bynum this season has been that he's an unbelievable talent who is turning into one of the best centers in the league, but needs to grow up a bit.
Wednesday night's game against the San Antonio Spurs pretty much summed up Bynum's season in a two-hour span.
After grabbing a career high 30 rebounds in a must-win game at San Antonio, Bynum had this to say to KCAL 9's Mike Trudell:
For those of you who are video impaired, Bynum said that he was able to grab 30 rebounds because he "shot like s***."
KCAL 9 missed the censor by a second, and because of that the rest of what Bynum had to say was inaudible.
I'm no moralist on cursing. Everyone does it. Even your children. Trust me, the playground at my private elementary school was infiltrated with expletives all over the place.
At the same time, it's common code of conduct not to curse on live television. I mean, everyone knows that.
Well, everyone except Andrew Bynum, of course.
It's one thing if you're Dennis Green and your team has blown a huge lead on national television and your emotions get to you as you go on a expletive-laden tirade, and it's another when you just played the best game of your life in a big victory.
This is just another example of Bynum's immaturity. A small sample of it, but yeah, the kid hasn't grown up.
Then again, I'm sure there is some unwritten rule somewhere that says that anytime you get 30 rebounds in a ball game, you can say whatever you want on live television.
