TNA Lockdown: Why James Storm Must Beat Bobby Roode This Week at the PPV

For the past six months, TNA has enjoyed consistency and chaos. In terms of professional wrestling, that is a very good thing.

Bobby Roode has slowed down TNA and its constant passing of a very hot potato in terms of the World Title and has played the role of heel better than we could have imagined. Creative finally looks like it knows what it is doing in spite of itself.

Now with Lockdown on Sunday and the stars all in line and James Storm in the way of Roode's reign, fans finally have what they want. And TNA has done a masterful job of prepping us for this match. Even with twists and turns and, yes, injuries, the hype built around it has been worth it.

This may be worthy of a "Match of the Year" candidate.

The vignettes, the stories of how both these wrestlers have worked their way up the TNA ranks, fighting common foes, becoming tag team partners and then becoming enemies. Thank you, TNA, for seeing that the old NWA style was perfect for this type of encounter.

But now with all the hype, change is needed. Fans have watched the two men climb the mountain and turn around to see the other contenders come and go. And with someone like Bully Ray nipping at both their heels and an upstart like Austin Aries in the picture (yes, he can take the TNA Title), we want more.

Give us more.

Roode has beaten his opponents, had interference in most of his matches, turned his back on almost everyone and considers himself the leader of the "Selfish Generation." He has had a busy six months. But we need a twist and another turn. We need Storm to claim the title and the two Beer Money "friends" pass the title back and forth for a bit.

A six-month feud would be nice. While we always get something great in AJ Styles and Daniels, we need the same thing from Roode and Storm.

And both will deliver.

Storm winning also means there will be more opportunities for Bully Ray. Aries and others (Crimson, Matt Morgan). And it also makes us want more (I think I said that).

In the end, we wanted this, and we got it. We wanted Storm to crush Roode, and we should get that. We wanted change, and we are getting that.

It would seem TNA is making changes for the better. And also, in the end, they are listening and know what is really good for business.

Storm winning the title now at Lockdown is good for business.
