CM Punk Makes Wrestling History!
The Straight-Edge Superstar CM Punk doesn't drink, doesn't smoke, and doesn't do drugs.
But he does make history.
As well all saw this past week on RAW, Punk won the Intercontinental Championship from William Regal.

This was great for two reasons.
First off, Punk has the IC Title—and he won it in his hometown of Chicago.
And more importantly, he is the fastest triple-crown winner in history.
He has won the Tag Title, IC Title, and World Title. He is the only person ever to win all three within a year too.
Which is saying something to me. Because all who have done that are Wrestling Legends.
You are talking about Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Kane, The Rock, Stone Cold, and others. Now Punk joins that list—and he did it before all of them to boot.
One man who has not made the list of triple-crown winners is The Undertaker. You could say in this instance Punk was better than Taker. Taker has been a World Champion and Tag Champion. Never an IC or US Champion.
That could be something you would want to see settled at Wrestlemania 25, where Taker could make even more history. But that is a while away of course.
Punk is going to be the next big thing. To me, he is already big—but not quite the main event level he needs to be.
When he won his first World Title from Edge back in the summer he only held the title for a few months after He lost it without even being in the match to defend it.
I think the reason the WWE took it off of him was the fact Punk was not too popular at the time. He merchandise sales went up, but weren't as great as guys like Orton, Cena. HBK, and even Jericho.
So they felt with a little more time on RAW to get popular that his next reign would be longer and would be worthy of a longer Title reign this time. Before they felt he was not, because to just RAW watchers, Punk was a new face.
RAW is supposed to be the WWE's flagship show. With that said, they feel the World Champion of that show needs to be a big WWE name. Punk was not at the time, but they are making sure he will be the next time.
So this may be why they let him go for the triple crown so quickly in his career. Just my opinion but I think Punk will be the next RVD—a guy people love to watch and will want to see as World Champion.
Before he did not have that kind of support, now he does more and more. What do you think?
