Formula 1's Chinese Grand Prix: Top 10 Predictions
As the Formula One season gets back on track in Shanghai with the Chinese Grand Prix after a break, we look to predict the top 10 finishers.
This Formula One season promised a lot of fireworks even before it got underway. It is safe to say that it has not disappointed in any way so far. Expect that to continue this weekend.
Here is the list of what will be the final positions at Shanghai come the end of the racing weekend.
No. 10: Nico Rosberg
1 of 10Nico Rosberg may not be doing justice to his talent with below-par performances in the previous two races.
I predict that in Shanghai he will do better than his teammate Michael Schumacher. He will also score his first point of the season by coming in tenth.
No. 9: Sergio Perez
2 of 10Sergio Perez is a great driver, and recent results show that.
I doubt he will repeat his podium finish any time soon in the season. The race at Shanghai will be a reality check. Perez will still be in the top 10, though.
No. 8: Daniel Ricciardo
3 of 10Daniel Ricciardo for eighth position is going to be one of the surprises of the race. Move on for more surprise predictions.
No. 7: Pastor Maldonado
4 of 10Pastor Maldonado will take over from Bruno Senna for scoring points for Williams in Shanghai. He has been unlucky this season even with some good driving to show.
Expect that to change this weekend. Pastor Maldonado at No. 7.
No. 6: Jenson Button
5 of 10Continuing with the theme of surprises, I predict Jenson Button to come in sixth. I think he will have some luck issues this weekend.
No. 5: Mark Webber
6 of 10Mark Webber is out-performing his world champion teammate. Expect that to change this weekend in Shanghai. No. 5 for Mark Webber.
No. 4: Lewis Hamilton
7 of 10Lewis Hamilton will have a good solid race. Unfortunately, it will not be good enough for getting him to No. 1 on the drivers' standings at the end of the weekend. No. 4 for Lewis.
No. 3: Kimi Raikkonen
8 of 10Kimi Raikkonen will get to the podium. I predict him to have a good qualifying session and start higher up the grid than he has done so far.
No. 3 for Kimi because the car still has not proved capable of challenging the top two of McLaren and Red Bull.
No. 2: Sebastian Vettel
9 of 10After struggling to suggest championship winning form in the first two races, I think Sebastian Vettel will have a great race at Shanghai. No. 2 for Vettel.
No. 1: Fernando Alonso
10 of 10Fernando Alonso will stay top of the drivers' standings by winning the race at the weekend. He is singlehandedly carrying Ferrari at the moment. Expect that confidence and responsibility to translate into performance and result once again.
Fernando Alonso—Winner, Shanghai 2012
