The Vancouver Canucks start their Stanley Cup playoffs tonight against the Los Angeles Kings, and they are going to have to do it without leading scorer Daniel Sedin.

According to Kings' Insider Rich Hammond in this article, Sedin did not come out for the morning skate, and shortly after practice coach Alain Vigneault confirmed he would sit out for Game 1.

This comes just days after Daniels brother Henrik confirmed that Daniel was "100 percent healthy."

The Canucks are expected to place their normal second-line winger Mason Raymond on the top line with Henrik Sedin and Alexandre Burrows.

Daniel Sedin was diagnosed with a concussion after taking an elbow to the head in a much-maligned hit from Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith in a game on March 21. Keith was suspended five games for the infraction.

The Daniel-less Canucks went 8-1-0 to finish the regular season.

There is no word on whether or not Sedin will play in Friday's Game 2 of the series just yet.

Center Andrew Ebbett is expected to fill in on the fourth line given the roster shuffle. Ebbett played in 18 games this season and had five goals and one assist.
