WWE Boring Rivalry of the Month: Cody Rhodes vs. Big Show

 As we made our way into 2012, Big Show and Cody Rhodes were on completely separate paths.

Rhodes was likely going to be placed in a match with his brother Dustin, which would have surely been a classic. Show, on the other hand, was on his way to another celebrity match, this time with NBA Legend Shaq. However, neither match came to fruition.

Despite Shaq saying on numerous occasion that he has a match at 'Mania, he never made a Raw appearance, and the clock ticked away. His opportunity came and went, leaving Big Show matchless for 'Mania. Fresh to of the World Title scene, the world's largest athlete was in need of an opponent. The creative team was desperate and quickly turned to Rhodes for a solution. 

The two men soon entered a rivalry that I expected to be a one and done at 'Mania, with Rhodes coming out on top or leaving for the title scene after a loss. The big day finally came after a somewhat boring and repeated buildup. Big Show came out victorious and put an end to the long reign of the once dashing Cody Rhodes.

The match was rather boring and I was glad that the rivalry was finally finished. However, I was sadly mistaken.

The next night, Show came out and distracted Rhodes with an embarrassing clip from 'Mania, using the same tactic Rhodes did during the buildup toward April 1. He has continued this for two more weeks and doesn't look to be slowing down any time soon.

With Cody looking to make an impact on the business, he needs to have intriguing feuds finished off with great matches. His rivalry with Big Show is having the exact opposite effect, and the title loss isn't helping things.

While these two have had solid rivalries in the past with others, together they haven't fared well again each other.
