Madden 2013: Enhancements We Would Love to See in This Year's Game
Madden is the undisputed king of the virtual football world, but new versions are about enhancements and improving upon the previous version. At least—that's what we as fans hope for.
No one wants a glorified roster update.
With that said, after more hours on Madden 12 than I care to share, I have made a shortlist of enhancements I'd love to see when Madden 13 drops in August.

Colts Release Kenny Moore

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
It's all about gameplay, for some, but I'd like a little more cream in my coffee.
"He Figures to Be a Prime-Time Performer in This One"
Gus Johnson and Cris Colinsworth lend their recognizable voices to the game in Madden 12, and they will presumably return for Madden 13.
That said, I'm hoping to hear more conversational value and variety in the dialogue. Most gamers play at least one full season with their team of choice when the new Madden is released. Over those 16-plus games, dialogue can get downright repetitive if there isn't enough variety.
Dragging ol' Gus and Chris back into the studio to flesh out the commentating would be a huge boost to the audio and presentation package.
Can a Brother Get Some Robots?
You know the robots that appear in Fox's NFL presentation during cutscenes and overlays?
Can we have something like that incorporated in the game? Or better yet, an actual halftime show? Going even further, a weekly wrap-up show during our franchise modes would be stellar.
Madden has certainly made some strides in the area of TV-style presentation, but these additions would take the game to the next level.
It may seem inconsequential, but when done properly, it really does add to the overall experience.
NCAA Football 13 and Madden 13 Must Reconcile Their Differences
Last year, a feature that I hold near and dear to my heart didn't work. The importing of draft classes from NCAA Football (EA Sports' college football simulation) into Madden is something I've done every year since the feature was instituted.
It really links the two games together, and it lets them function as a complete football experience.
When I realized it wasn't happening in Madden 12, I cried.
Games shouldn't make you cry.
Did That Just Happen?
The instances of teleportation, spontaneous generation, player relocation—and every other "-ation"—has been greatly reduced. Yet we still do have some instances where the collision detection is a bit sketchy.
I'd love to see that cleaned up from a gameplay standpoint. For the most part, the game played solidly in Madden 12, but polishing things up to remove the un-football-like occurrences would be great.
I am excited about the release of Madden 13, but what's new? I don't think there has ever been a year I wasn't.
I know most every major implementation the game will carry this year has already been finalized. Hopefully, a good portion of what I've mentioned here is part of the enhancements.
Madden fans, feel free to comment about other things you'd like to see in this year's version. Maybe I'll see you online in August—who am I kidding, I'm still playing Madden 12.
