Celtics vs. Heat: Boston Must Build Momentum with Another Win Against Miami
The Boston Celtics are playing the Miami Heat tonight in their third matchup of the season.
Boston direly needs to pick up a "W" on the road in a nationally televised contest against one of the best teams in the game to build momentum heading into the postseason.
Fortunately, the C’s may have figured out how to hinder their rivals, and just in time.
During an April 1 matchup in Beantown, Rajon Rondo led his team to an easy 91-72 victory with a triple-double performance.
The mercurial but extremely talented point guard put up 16 points, 14 assists and 11 rebounds in 37 minutes of play.
With Rondo going off, the rest of the team just had to play up to their abilities and keep up on defense.
If they can execute like that again tonight, live on ESPN and ESPN3 at 7 p.m. ET, there will be no problems picking up another win and evening the series up at two games apiece.
The Celtics have won seven out of their last nine games and claimed first place in the Atlantic Division with just a few weeks left before the playoffs.
Should they use their D to beat the formidable Heat a second time, it would be the signature stomping they need to get confidence at a season-high. That is ideal for what is likely the last Finals push in the Big Three era.
""The defense is real good, guys are locked in," coach Doc Rivers said. "I don't care how well you play, your offense is going to fail you sometimes. But if you come with the right mind-set, your defense never should, and it'll always give you a chance to win a game."
"
If Boston can continue smothering on D and beating teams like the Heat, they could definitely make another championship run.
