WWE Monday Night Raw: 5 Things You Must Look for in Tonight's Episode (April 9)
Most people hate Mondays. But not me.
Why? Well, because of Monday Night Raw, of course.
For most people, Mondays mean the start of another boring work week. But for me, they mean the start of another exciting week of WWE action.
Given all of the anticipation for tonight's episode of Raw, it should be a very solid show that keeps us entertained throughout.
If you're one of those people who doesn't like to be surprised, though, you might want to know what to be on the lookout for tonight then.
Don't worry. I've got you covered.
Here are five things you need to look for in tonight's edition (April 9th) of Monday Night Raw.
5. Eve Torres Making "Serious Career Moves"
1 of 5WWE's resident skank-juice sipper Eve Torres wrote the following on Twitter over the weekend: "Made it to Washington DC for #Raw tomorrow. Ready to start making some serious career moves.”
This has led to all sorts of speculation about exactly what she means by "serious career moves."
Given her long-running romance/feud with Zack Ryder, one has to think that he could be involved in this in some way, and perhaps Eve's new "career moves" start with her aligning herself with another WWE superstar.
There's been a rumor floating around for a while now that we're eventually going to be headed for a feud featuring Ryder and a returning Layla against Eve and some other mid-card heel.
Might we see that tonight as Eve starts her "career moves"?
I don't know about you, but I could certainly see Eve pairing herself up with someone like The Miz to see where it takes her WWE career.
4. The Continuation of Brodus Clay's First Feud
2 of 5Ever since Brodus Clay returned/debuted as "The Funkasaurus" a few months back, he has been relegated to squash matches and left without a feud.
That is until now.
On last week's Raw, the creative team appeared to start Clay's first feud when he saved Santino Marella from a post-match attack by Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler.
It looks as if we're going to get some sort of Clay/Santino vs. Ziggler/Swagger feud or perhaps a singles feud between Clay and either Ziggler or Swagger.
Maybe this isn't the ideal situation for Clay, but a potential pairing with Santino could provide the WWE with a hilarious duo that also helps beef up the tag team division.
I'm really interested in seeing where the WWE goes with this rivalry tonight and whether or not Santino and Clay are going to stick together for the long term.
3. CM Punk in a Bad Mood?
3 of 5CM Punk appears to be in a foul mood today.
He wrote the following on Twitter early this morning: “Just not in the mood. Doing morning media for a show I haven’t decided I’m showing up for yet."
While it's unclear what exactly Punk is referring to, it's definitely clear that he's not in a great mood, and he seemed to hint that he might possibly miss Raw tonight.
Either way, I'm sure that Punk has revenge on his mind after that vicious beatdown he received from Chris Jericho on last week's Raw.
Not only did Punk lose his match against Henry, but he was brutally attacked by Jericho afterward, and it's likely that he's going to have something in store for Jericho if he shows up tonight.
A promo? An attack? Who knows.
But if I were Jericho, I'd definitely be on the lookout.
2. Mick Foley and Dean Ambrose?
4 of 5Mick Foley is advertised to appear on tonight's Raw, and if he indeed does, it will be the first time we've seen him since the Royal Rumble.
That in itself is reason enough to tune into tonight's Raw, but here's another one: the possibility that Dean Ambrose comes along with him.
Foley and FCW standout Ambrose had an interesting verbal confrontation during WrestleMania weekend, and there has been speculation that that confrontation, combined with Foley's scheduled appearance on Raw tonight, will lead to Ambrose's main roster debut on tonight's Raw.
I'm sure you've heard by now that Ambrose is one of the top stars in WWE's developmental territory, one who's just waiting to be called up to either Raw or SmackDown.
Given that we saw Lord Tensai, Damien Sandow and Ryback all debut/return last week, I wouldn't be even remotely surprised if we see another debut tonight when Ambrose appears on Raw to confront Foley.
1. A Verbal Confrontation Between John Cena and Brock Lesnar
5 of 5After what happened at the conclusion of last week's Raw, we all know it's coming.
Brock Lesnar made his triumphant return to the WWE by interrupting John Cena's promo and planting him in the middle of the ring with a huge F5. Afterward, he looked at Cena and asked him if he knew how long he'd been waiting to do that.
All of that will undoubtedly lead to a verbal confrontation between Cena and Lesnar, likely in the last segment on tonight's Raw.
Will Lesnar reveal his motive behind attacking Cena? Will Cena be all smiles, or will he be serious for a change?
Better yet, will these two get physical again?
I don't know, but I'm highly intrigued by what could go down between two colossal stars...tonight.
Note: As part of the new WWE blog, I'll be asking all of the B/R wrestling readers for questions for a new mailbag that I will post on Fridays. It will be a slideshow featuring 10-20 questions and answers on a wide range of topics. You can submit questions either through Formspring or Twitter, and the best ones will be answered in the B/R mailbag.
