WWE News: How Far Was Billy Gunn Willing to Go to Get Billy and Chuck Over?

Former WWE superstar Billy Gunn has had many different gimmicks throughout his career, but none were quite as colorful as Billy of Billy and Chuck.

In what was possibly one of the most politically incorrect storylines in the history of the WWE—and that's a feat in and of itself—after forming a face tag team Gunn and Chuck Palumbo turned heel simply by exhibiting a homosexual relationship.

The duo was fairly successful, holding the WWE World Tag Team Titles on two occasions before ultimately losing them to Edge and Hulk Hogan. They even are one in a long line of failed on-air marriages: just before they could tie the knot on SmackDown, they revealed that their whole relationship was nothing but a publicity stunt.

Insensitivity aside, Billy and Chuck certainly caused a lot of controversy and got people talking—and honestly, that's really all the WWE wanted back in the day. Gunn certainly understood that, and in an interview with Aftermath Radio's Arda Ocal and Jimmy Korderas, he reveals that he would be willing to do whatever it took to get the gimmick over, because that was his job.
