Masters 2012 Live: Bo Van Pelt and Pros That Waited Too Long to Shine at Augusta

Brian MaziqueJun 7, 2018

What a day for Bo Van Pelt on Sunday. It's too bad it was far and away his best day at Augusta this year. Van Pelt shot a 64 to move to only -1 to close the tournament. That is -8 under for the day.

For all intents and purposes, he has no shot at winning the event because he shot 73 and two 75s in the first three rounds.

The 64 was the best round of the tournament to date, but its all for naught as he has no chance to win.

Van Pelt wasn't the only golfer who produced a strong score on Sunday, yet has no shot at contention.

Anders Hansen

Hansen delivered a solid -4 under 68 on Sunday to finish at +1 for the tournament. Hansen was held back by his 76, 72 and 73 in the first three rounds.

Hansen's Sunday started off shaky as well, but he delivered big-time on the back nine. He finished with no bogeys and five birdies on the final nine holes.

Hansen will have great momentum headed into the next event.

Luke Donald

Some thought Donald would be a major factor in this tournament, but he didn't show contender level play until Sunday. Donald finished with a 68 as well, but he played so poorly in the previous rounds, he still finished at only +3 for the tournament.

He recorded two 75s and a 73 in the first three rounds and even Sunday has its ups and downs.

Donald has some work to do to prepare for the The Players Championship in May.
