NFL DRAFT NEEDS

AFC-South

TexansHouston Texans- The Texans improved late in the season a tough start; if Schaub can stay healthy I think the Texans can make a run at the playoffs next season. The Texans need a play making safety and they will address this with their first round pick. They would have loved to select Taylor Mays if he entered the draft and fell to them at pick No. 15, but if he is gone by than they will select William Moore from Missouri.

Both of their safety stops need immediate help so it would not surprise me if they took a seconds safety later on in this draft. They also need an outside linebacker to play alongside with DeMeco Ryans. I expect an outside linebacker to be their second-round pick.

They also will try to add depth to the defensive end, cornerback, defensive tackle and running back units in the later rounds.

ColtsIndianapolis Colts- The Colts had another great regular season, but their season ended with a very disappointing lose to the Chargers in their Wild Card match-up. The Colt’s offense is still one of the best in the league, so they will be drafting mostly for defense again this year.

They need defensive tackles who can stuff the run in the worse way.

Their first pick is going to be a defensive tackles, I could see them selecting Peria Jerry from Ole Miss. The Colts also need to add some depth at the linebacker position; I would expect them to add a linebacker in the second or third round.

On the offensive side of the ball their main need is on the offensive line. They will need a Guard who will be able to come in and play right away, this could be found in the second round. They also could add a wide receiver who would replace Harrison down the line.

JaguarsJacksonville Jaguars- The Jags had a very disappointing season after they made the playoffs last year. On offense they need to fix the offensive line and add a play-making wide receiver.

On defense the team needs to find a replacement for Mike Peterson if they continue to have problems with him.

I think the Jags might take a tackle with the first pick just because of the overall talent at that position in the draft. They could take Jason Smith from Baylor with the ninth pick who would take the place of Khalif Barnes who gave up the most sacks by any left tackle.

The interior line also needs an upgrade which could happen in the middle rounds. I middle linebacker will be a major need it Peterson is let go, if that happens they should draft a LB in the second round. The defense all so needs a safety in the later rounds.

TitansTennessee Titans- The Titans could be called the surprise team of the league with Grandpa Kerry Collins leading them as the best team in the AFC.

However, the playoffs were disappointing for him as they fell to the Ravens. They need a little bit of help on both sides of the ball.

On offense they need to find a replacement to take over for the aging Kevin Mawae down the road. On defense the biggest need is a corner back to play opposite of Cortland Finnegan.

The Titans could hope that Alex Mack, center from Cal, falls to them in the first round, but if not they will take a corner like Trevard Lindley from Kentucky or D.J Moore from Vanderbilt. Another position of need would be a defensive tackle if star Albert Haynesworth leaves for free agency. A mid to late round quarterback pick would not be surprising to me either.
