Tiger Woods Video: Watch Tiger Punt Club in Masters Meltdown

Ryan RudnanskyJun 7, 2018

Tiger Woods' victory at the Arnold Palmer Invitational this year was supposed to mark a brand new start for the former No. 1 golfer in the world.

Instead, it's nothing but the same for Tiger, who looked terrible in the second round at Augusta on Friday.

Woods has not only lost his game out on the links, but he lost his mind on Friday, accentuated by him punting his club on the 16th. He looks so frustrated out there that it has taken him over. He's doubting himself, he's not completing his backswing and he's not even approaching holes the right way. His golf swing symbolizes his state of mind: chaotic.

Woods has certainly had his fair share of troubles in the past two years. It's no wonder he hasn't looked like the Tiger of yore. But there was hope that he was turning things around. His victory at Bay Hill was supposed to symbolize him getting his mental game back, which is more important than anything.

Instead, his frustration has boiled over at Augusta in an almost pathetic way. It's a sad thing to see—when a man who has won 14 majors and four green jackets collapses like this. It makes you wonder if Tiger really has enough left to win another major, let alone the Masters.

Through two rounds of play, Woods has shot a three-over 143. He is currently eight shots back from leaders Jason Dufner and Fred Couples. He's had five bogeys on the day—and he's going backwards.

You'd like to think Woods will put it all together in the final two rounds and make a rousing comeback. In reality, there is nothing to suggest that will happen.
