Gregg Williams Audiotape: Kenny Williams Justified in Calling out NFL Coach

Gregg Williams' saga just keeps getting worse with each passing day. Kenny Williams, father of San Francisco wide receiver Kyle Williams, is none too thrilled with the recently released audio from the former New Orleans defensive coordinator and isn't afraid to say how he feels about it. 

In case you missed it, there was an audiotape that came out on Thursday with Gregg Williams saying that he wanted his players to attack Kyle Williams' head because of a concussion he had suffered in the regular season. 

Kenny Williams made his first public statement on the issue in a statement through the Chicago Tribune:

Personally, suspension or not, it's probably best I'm never in a room with Gregg Williams and wonder if such an order crosses the line of the aggressive, competitive spirit we all know and love about the sport; and leans closer to a criminal act and therefore a litigious matter.

"

Some might consider that to be barbaric, or feeding the mentality that put Gregg Williams in this predicament to begin with, but when you hear someone say that he wants to go after your son's head after he suffered a concussion, what are you going to do?

One can only imagine what kind of thoughts were running through Kenny Williams' head when he heard this. 

Perhaps it is an old-school NFL mentality. Maybe Gregg Williams was saying things that every other defensive coordinator in the NFL does; he was just unlucky enough to get caught. 

That is no excuse for what he was trying to do. With concussions and head injuries, that is not something you can take lightly because it will have long-term effects on the well-being of a human being. 

Kenny Williams is absolutely, 100 percent justified in calling out Gregg Williams. Does anyone actually think he is going to act upon this? No. Does that mean he should not be threatening this man who wants to go after his son's livelihood? Hell no.
