HENDO EDGES OUT ACE
Yesterday's main event on the Ultimate Fighting Championship 93 card between Dan Henderson and Rich Franklin didn't disappoint as both fighters squared off for the first time in front of a sold out crowd in Dublin, Ireland. This was a match up that fight fans had been waiting for the last couple of years, and the UFC finally made it happen.
Throughout the entire main event fight, "Hollywood" Henderson did as expected and dominated the ground game where he is most comfortable, and dangerous.
Hendo was seeing trouble from Franklin's stand up, but Dan quickly put out the fire by putting Ace on his back trying to take him out with his solid ground, and pound.
During the last minute of the third round Hendo inadvertently poked Franklin in the eye, which had him in immediate pain and holding his face. Franklin showed his toughness though by getting back to the action to finish up the fight. Luckily the poke to Franklin's eye happened so late in the fight that it didn't effect the outcome.
This was definately the most thrilling fight on the main card as it was hard to take your eyes off of it, while the fight was in process, just ask Rich.
Henderson won the fight by a split decision over the former UFC middleweight king Franklin, who was given a 30-27 score by one of the judges over "Hollywood," which Franklin didn't agree with.
Henderson had something to say about it when given his post fight interview with Joe Rogan.
