Mario Balotelli: Man City Striker Admits to Affair with Wayne Rooney Call Girl

Manchester City's season of scandal and success continues as famed striker Mario Balotelli comes clean about his tryst with a prostitute.

The Daily Mail reports Balotelli is coming clean about a fling he had with a call girl that is also being linked to Manchester United star Wayne Rooney.

The woman in question is Jennifer Thompson, a famous call girl that stated she had a relationship with Rooney two years ago, wherein the star allegedly paid her £1,200-a-night for sex while his wife Coleen was five months pregnant.

In this case, Balotelli was tired of living a lie and wanted to come clean before rumors became headlines around the world. 

The City star, who has been as problematic in his on the field antics as he has been a wonder of a talent, stated the following in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, translated by The Daily Mail.

I know I must still learn to keep my private life separate from my profession. It’s not easy, but I have taken this step to free me from the weight of this story.

‘Recently, I admit, I have been troubled - because of this story, but not only. My natural parents in some interviews have been disrespectful to my family.

‘Now that this weight has been lifted, I am certain that I will find the positive energy to make the best run for the title with Manchester City, and prepare in the best way for the European Championship.

"

Balotelli had a recent and well-known spat with manager Roberto Mancini, and the Blues' season has been just as volatile, brilliant one moment and lackluster the next. 

The high-priced side is now five points behind Manchester United prior to the final EPL push. 

The report has dramatic personal ties for Balotelli, who has been dating Raffaella Fico and even donned a shirt that read "Raffaella, I love you" in Italian. 

He wore the shirt against Blackburn on February 25, two days after his meeting with Thompson was reported to have happened. 

Balotelli spoke with his girlfriend and adopted parents well before this news broke, and Fico has since spoke about their relationship, via The Daily Mail.

Mario is the man that I love. We are busy and very young. But if he asked me to get married, I would accept. I, like him, dream of a family.’

"

For now, the story is as good as history. 

Balotelli and the rest of City can concentrate on closing out the season and leaving the off-the-pitch issues well behind. 

There is nothing right about what the star did in regards to Thompson, but he showed character in owning his transgressions despite the possible fallout.
