Manchester City Maneuvering: Not So Much "Deal or No Deal" as "Wrong Deal"
So Manchester City’s pursuit of the Brazilian midfielder is over with City’s Garry Cook accusing AC Milan of “bottling it.”
Forgive me for my views, but in “bottling it” is Mr. Cook referring to Milan pandering to their own fans?
What a crime in this day and age, to listen to one's own fans. Tut tut, you Italians, so behind the times.

I mean, come on, the move wasn’t right for player or club and the deal fell through. It has happened hundreds of times in this January transfer window already. Maybe when the Manchester side make it into Europe, they will be in a better position to attract better players to the City of Manchester Stadium.
To make matters worse, it appears that Robinho has stormed out of City’s Spanish training camp. Anything to do with Man City signing Craig Bellamy instead of Kaka, do you think?
I’d be upset if I were a City player or fan. What they need “one season and I‘ll strike if a bigger club comes calling” Bellamy for, I’ll never know.
Or maybe it is City’s reported £8 million link with Newcastle United goalkeeper Shay Given? I mean, maybe Robinho thought Gianluigi Buffon was coming?
Don’t get me wrong. I rate Given amongst the best goalkeepers in Barclays Premier League history, but he isn’t of the class of the Italian No. 1.
Was Robinho promised he wouldn’t be the only world class player on view at Eastlands by the end of the season? We will never know, but something has annoyed him.
Funny how being “THE MAN” in Manchester just isn’t enough for some.
Craig Bellamy, who likes to think he is “the man,” has joined the club for £14 million and I don’t think it was City’s best option. He is 29 and I was told the other day that Jimmy Bullard wasn’t worth £5 million because he was 30.
Not that I agreed with that, of course.
The Welshman is a notorious troublemaker and has had his fair share of injuries. He plays like City’s starlet Daniel Sturridge, who has shown this season he is top class.
So why Bellamy and why £14 million? Can someone explain please? Craig Bellamy is not the kind of player Manchester City are meant to be aiming at.
If I’d been West Ham, I’d have sold him too. He is a stirrer and as I keep being told, you are worth what someone is willing to pay.
So deal Mr. Banker and good riddance.
