WWE News: Former Tough Enough Winner and WWE Star Maven Huffman Arrested

Gone Baby GoneJun 3, 2018

This news is rough, as it seems to be a common thread among current and former wrestlers.

According to TMZ.com:

"

Maven Huffman—a former WWE superstar—was arrested in Florida on Monday after cops say he was "doctor shopping" to get his fix of painkillers.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... cops uncovered Huffman had gone to three doctors in two weeks and scored multiple prescriptions for Oxycodone and Hydrocodone.

35-year-old Huffman allegedly went to multiple pharmacies to fill his prescriptions—in what appears to be a ploy to conceal his activity. In total, cops believe Maven scored more than 1,000 pills.

Maven was probably one of the more successful wrestlers to come from the original Tough Enough series. His WWE tenure spanned roughly four years, and his biggest accomplishment came in the form of a Hardcore title run.

However, his biggest WWE moment was in 2004. That is when he took part in that year's Survivor Series Elimination Match, teaming with Randy Orton, Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho. This match pitted Maven's team against Triple H, Batista, Edge and Snitsky. This matchup was not your standard Survivor Series Elimination match, as there was a stipulation for the winning team.

That team would have complete control over Monday Night Raw for one month and allow each member to run the show on their own throughout the month. Ultimately, Maven's team would win, thanks to Randy Orton, who was the last man left from that team.

After his WWE departure, Maven found himself as a cast member on the VH1 reality show The Surreal Life. In which he and several other former celebrities lived in a house for a period of time, it was kind of like the Real World for D-listers.

Some of you may know Maven was a middle school teacher prior to his wrestling venture, and to me he should have gone back after his WWE release—mostly because he lived the dream, and chances are once you are at that level and get released, you're not going to be headed back.

Not many can say they were able to perform for the WWE, get released and come back at the same level or better than they were.

Hopefully, Maven can pull through this and get back into his former profession, and I don't mean wrestling.
