Nike NFL Uniforms: Boring Team Unis That Need an Extreme Overhaul

With the release of the new Nike collection of NFL uniforms for the 2012 season, the excitement over the changes was all we could talk about.

After all the hoopla a fan could want, the company showed us minimal changes. This is because of the NFL’s old-school mental approach, but it’s just a matter of time before Nike has a team going with a Pro-Combat third jersey.

All of the following teams need a drastic makeover, and Nike is the company to do it.

Cleveland Browns

While the NFL is all about tradition, the Cleveland Browns need to do something about their team logos. At this point, it’s getting disgraceful.

The team’s logo is their plain orange helmet; please tell me this is all a big joke.

Cleveland can claim to be the Penn State of the NFL in terms of jerseys, but the kids aren’t wearing them around because they’re ugly as sin. Get a logo and color scheme or fear everlasting irrelevance.

Minnesota Vikings

While the Browns are just completely wrong with their uniform, the Minnesota Vikings have all the pieces in place to have the coolest unis in the NFL.

If a team like Minnesota decided to go all-in with Nike on a third jersey in the Pro-Combat style, it would be the biggest hit in 2012 as far as jerseys go.

The color scheme of purple, silver and gold mixed with the idea of Vikings is enough to get Nike’s creative team going hard after what would be a wild uniform.

St. Louis Rams

While the St. Louis Rams used to hold one of the greatest color schemes in all of sports with their blue and bright yellow combination, the team has moved to a different base with dark shades of blue and gold.

As cool as it was for a while, it has come to be associated with the poor play of the team lately, thus making it necessary for the team to dump the ugly unis like hot rocks in exchange for cooler threads.

With the help of Nike and the willingness to go back to the old color scheme, the team would have one of the greatest jerseys in the NFL.
