WrestleMania 28: MGK and 6 People Who Should Never Come Back to WrestleMania
The massive event that is WrestleMania came this past Sunday in an air of anticipation and excitement.
Fans were treated to an "End of an Era," two of the most popular superstars of all time squaring off and numerous championship matches.
In all, WrestleMania was a success and a great show. I am sure the pay-per-view sales were lucrative, as well as the live gate.
With that said, there are definitely a few people that I would rather not see come back to WrestleMania ever again.
Here are a few of them.
Flo Rida and Machine Gun Kelly
1 of 7I understand that the WWE wants to put on musical performances for the crowd; I get that. What I saw on Sunday night was nothing exciting. Both Machine Gun Kelly and Flo Rida put on performances that were quite forgettable, in my opinion.
Machine Gun Kelly's performance was poor. Following his song, he gave some corny speech on how John Cena was the underdog that was going to win. It was dreadful.
Flo Rida was not much better. I actually enjoyed him shoving Heath Slater into a wall more than his musical performance. To me, it looked like Flo Rida lip-synched his song. I could be wrong, but it really looked that way.
It is sad when Skylar Grey, the supporting vocalist for Machine Gun Kelly, was the top performer during the musical sets, merely because she was a supporting vocalist.
Oh, and isn't there only supposed to be one official theme song for a wrestling event? There were like five or six for WrestleMania. Doesn't sound too official to me.
Alex Rodriguez
2 of 7I understand that they wanted to show the audience that Torrie Wilson was in the front row at WrestleMania, but if I never see A-Rod at a WrestleMania, or any wrestling event, ever again, it will be too soon.
His appearance on camera actually took away from the stunning diva, as he is a bigger star than she is. Torrie's history in the WWE should have earned her some solo time on the camera, but unfortunately she got overshadowed by her baseball-playing boyfriend.
The Bridge Club
3 of 7In the words of Jim Ross, "Good God almighty!"
It was either this skit or The Deadliest Catch skit that had me putting my face in my hands. I was embarrassed watching a whole bunch of fake, elderly women shake their fake butts as a filler.
When Brodus Clay's music hit, I was super excited. I didn't care if it was a squash match or not, I just wanted to see the man wrestle for a bit.
Instead, we were forced to watch one of the most questionable WrestleMania sights I have ever seen.
Note to the writers next year. Please don't do anything like this ever again.
Heath Slater
4 of 7I may be a little biased here, but Heath Slater's segment backstage with Flo Rida made me dislike him even more.
I'm not saying that Heath Slater should never come back to WrestleMania. But, if he isn't going to wrestle, and instead, he does a stupid backstage segment where he has to talk, I just say leave it off altogether.
For one, he has a horrible "gimmick," if you want to call it that. "The One-Man Southern Rock Band" is his gimmick? What does that even mean?
Give the guy a decent gimmick, prevent him from talking backstage and stick to him wrestling. Otherwise, I would rather him not come back to WrestleMania.
Maria Menounos
5 of 7I have all the respect in the world for Maria Menounos going out there injured and wrestling a match. That took guts and a lot of heart.
That being said, if there was to be a women's wrestling match at all, it should have been the two best divas wrestling for the Divas Championship.
Maybe this isn't a knock on Menounos personally but the circumstances in which she participated. Beth Phoenix got pinned. Yes, the Divas Champion got pinned by a celebrity who does not wrestle.
Who am I kidding? If Menounos doesn't show up to another WrestleMania, a lot of people will probably be happier for it.
Biased Michael Cole
6 of 7Here is actually one guy who, for the most part, did not show up at WrestleMania this year. There is a time and a place to be an annoying, idiotic broadcaster, and this year, Cole kept it to a minimum.
Michael Cole's current position as the biased, heel announcer is quite annoying. We have to hear it on every Raw and Smackdown telecast. To be honest, I think he is a much better unbiased announcer, while Jerry "The King" Lawler was better in Cole's current position.
Michael Cole's lack of biased, heelish announcing made WrestleMania even more enjoyable. If biased Michael Cole never shows up at WrestleMania again, that would make the event as great to listen to as this year's event.
Conclusion
7 of 7Thanks for reading!
I know I used a lot of celebrity examples of people that should not come back, but that is because I believe WrestleMania is just as important for the wrestlers as it is for the fans. How many wrestlers lost a spot on the card because of celebrity appearances?
Feel free to comment on who you think should never come back, or if you disagree with any of the picks I made.
