Seahawks New Uniforms: Nike Flexes Fashion Muscle for Seattle's New Gear

No NFL team's new uniforms represented Nike's forward thinking and sleek style more than the Seahawks' new threads. The deep blue-colored home jerseys are the highlight of the new uniform set, but even the all-white uniforms have some flair.

A team from the Emerald City should have some neon green, and the Seahawks deliver. The good thing is that it's not overdone. Previous Seahawks uniform designers have overdone it with the neon color.

It looked as though the players had been drenched with the blood from the movie Predator.

Not a pretty picture.

This time around, it's trimmed up nicely and makes an impact.

I must admit, when I originally heard that Nike would be taking over for the NFL uniform duties, I didn't think it would change the fit and overall style of the uniforms.

I underestimated their impact, and influence.

Of course, the look emulates the new designs we began to see from collegiate football programs. I fully expect to see some of the more over the top alternate uniforms in the future.

That will especially be the case if and when these new uniforms are a commercial success. The Seahawks' fans should be excited about this new look, and from the Twitter reaction, I'd say the feedback has been pretty positive.

Of course, you'll always have your critics, but it appears most responses have been positive. Count me among those that approve. Now we'll see if this helps the Hawks contend in the NFC West.
