College Football Odds: USC Closes Gap, Is Now Betting Favorite to Win BCS Title

Jun 7, 2018

The offseason. Where practices are feature entertainment, scrimmages are big news and betting on college football future odds is kind of a big deal.

And after a few months of feverish betting, USC is now the favorite to win the 2012-2013 BCS National Championship, according to the online sports book Bovada.

The Trojans opened up the offseason at 9/1 to win the title. To those of you that jumped on this number while you could, kudos. This changed quickly, and the odds have consistently dipped since opening on the board.

USC is now listed at 4/1 and is the favorite to win the title over LSU. Les Miles' crew had been been the betting favorite since odds were posted in the middle of January.

The Tigers, who opened at 4/1, are currently listed at 9/2. Alabama is the third betting option at 11/2, and they opened up back in January at 5/1.

In terms of movement the other way, both Oklahoma and Oregon are now listed at 10/1 after opening up at 12/1. They are tied for the fourth betting option on the board.

For the most part, outside of USC, these odds have remained relatively consistent. Arkansas is currently 15/1 and the eighth overall selection on the board after opening up at 18/1. If Knile Davis stays healthy, however, this number could continue to decrease as the season approaches. Translation: If you like the Hogs, bet on ‘em sooner rather than later.

Of course these odds mean very little in terms of actual impact on the field, but it’s become very clear that the public is backing USC in a big, big way early on.
