WrestleMania Hangover: 5 Newsworthy Stories You May Have Missed Last Week
As we were heading into the biggest event of the year, several stories were making the rounds. Many of the stories were easy to spot, while others kind of got swept under the rug.
This article will feature the latter.
Chances are, if they were released any other week, they would have been all over the place. However, due to bad timing they were barely mentioned.
Many of them are humorous, while one was disturbing. Either way I can almost guarantee that these will be new stories for you. Hope you enjoy and feel free to post feedback in the comments section.
Kurt Angle's Mom Scammed Out of $4,000
1 of 5Kurt Angle had a pretty rough WrestleMania week.
Not only did he find out his Olympic bid may be in jeopardy due to injury, but his 80-year-old mother was scammed out of $4,000!
TMZ got the scoop and reported the following:
"Angle tells TMZ...his mother recently received a call from someone in the Dominican Republic who claimed her grandson was in a local jail and needed $4,000 STAT ... or the consequences would be severe.
"
Unfortunately, after sending the initial payment, a second was demanded. That's when she contacted the TNA star and he knew there were some shenanigans.
To date there is no update on the situation.
John Morrison Releases a Video Spoof of Triple H and Undertaker
2 of 5"The Shaman of Sexy," John Morrison, decided to jump in on all of the WrestleMania hype by releasing a video where he plays both Triple H and The Undertaker.
This video is pretty funny, and it really gave a different perspective to WreestleMania's Hell in a Cell match.
Personally, I am not a fan of Morrison, but it is nice to see that he is getting back into some more shtick work. I always felt his best work was during his run with The Miz, as he was able to explore a more sarcastic side.
Sting Re-Signs with TNA
3 of 5Yes, while the rest of the world had their eye on the WWE and WrestleMania, Dixie Carter decided this was the best time to tweet the following.
"""THRILLED to have just signed the new @Sting talent contract. So proud to have him part of the TNA family! Here's to some great times ahead!
—Dixie Carter (@TNADixie) March 29, 2012"
It's great that Sting has decided to return, but if I were TNA I would have waited until this week to make the announcement.
Especially considering that their big news stories are few and far between.
John Cena Tweets About Drug Test Results
4 of 5Just one week shy of the biggest pay-per-view of the year, one of its main-eventers ensured fans that he would be there.
On Sunday, March 25, John Cena took to Twitter to let the Twitter-verse know that he passed his latest drug test.
The tweets stated:
""Hey @espn @SportsCenter drug test 7days from the dance. Looks like Aegis also wants to see a clean fight. #WM28via.me/-h6hmm0
—John Cena (@JohnCena) March 25, 2012"
"
""Drug testing is @wwe policy since 05/06. Im happy because im proud that @wwe is committed to health of superstars #drugfree4life
—John Cena (@JohnCena) March 25, 2012"

Bret Hart Offers to Teach the Rock How to Do a "Correct" Sharp-Shooter
5 of 5WrestleMania was just about a week away, and the Rock was delivering plenty of smack talk via twitter.
However, the following tweet garnered the attention from a WWE Hall of Famer
"""Meditating in my sanctuary. Training for @JohnCena #WM28 @SportsCenter @espn @nfl #TeamBringIt
—Dwayne Johnson (@TheRock) March 25, 2012"
That Hall of Famer was Bret "The Hitman" Hart. This is the same guy that perfected the move The Rock had tweeted and he responded with the following.
"""I have a lot of respect for The Rock, but I'd be more than happy 2 teach him how to put the sharpshooter on correctly
—Bret Hart (@BretHart) March 25, 2012"
Obviously, this was in response to The Rock's unique stance when applying the maneuver.
However, it should be noted that even Sting's version "The Scorpion Death Lock" also looks mildly different from Hart's.
So I think it's safe to say, there may not be one proper way to apply this hold.
