WWE News: What Does the Return of Lesnar Mean?

Paul WiesbadenJun 5, 2018

I slept three hours last night. I thought I set my alarm when I took a nap after my classes. But instead I missed Monday Night Raw.

Thank god for YouTube! I saw Lesnar return to Raw and F5 Cena after getting the "Holy Sheeeet" treatment from the crowd.

Obviously Cena needed someone after The Rock match at WrestleMania 28. Lesnar is probably the best thing to fall into Cena's lap.

Already I have seen comments on the Internet about Cena having to put over two guys who walked away from wrestling years ago. I think people who say things like that are missing bits of logic.

Lets look down the current roster. Who on earth could Cena face on the current WWE roster that would be able to propel him forward?

I cannot think of anyone.

CM Punk's feud ended with Punk being pushed—and that made sense. Cena winning against Punk would have helped neither of them in the long run.

Lesnar, on the other hand, has the ability to help Cena. He has a big mainstream audience who can be exposed to Cena for starters. Lesnar can also help Cena get an edge back—an edge Cena has been lacking for quite a long time.

With Lesnar's debut and quick F5 of Cena to a huge pop, I cannot see Cena having any choice but to turn heel now.

We have seen that Cena being a babyface is failing on all levels. But Cena has a huge potential to create some of the hottest heat as a heel.

This is what I think Lesnar's WWE role will be at first: helping Cena become relevant again. Lesnar, who is going to work more than The Rock did, will be able to help out others without having to be jobbed out.

But I think I might have to go out and make an easy prediction. WrestleMania 29 will have a returning Undertaker with some business to settle with Lesnar.
