Barcelona vs. AC Milan: Catalans Will Get Their Revenge with Resounding Victory

Richard LangfordJun 5, 2018

Barcelona will advance to defend their Champions League crown by taking down AC Milan 2-0 in the friendly confines of Camp Nou. And they must win to move on.

The Catalans and the Rossoneri battled to a 0-0 draw in the first leg of this match. And since the mighty Catalans have yet to record an away goal, they cannot withstand another draw.

It won't be an issue by the end of Tuesday's showdown. Barcelona has shown time and again that they are deadly with their backs against the wall. They will come out with a brilliant effort, and they will crack Milan's fine defense.

While the Rossoneri held them scoreless in the first meeting, it wasn't because Barca had a lack of opportunities. They just couldn't capitalize on them.

The Catalans owned 65 percent of the possession. They also took three times more shots than Milan at 18 to 6.

However, only three of those 18 shots were on target. This is not a typical Barca effort, and not one anybody should expect them to repeat.

That last contest was on a sloppy pitch and in front of Milan's home fans. That will not be the case this time.

With a rabid fanbase cheering them on, and what is almost assuredly going to be a faster pitch, Barcelona's offense will not be shut out. They will once again control possession.

Only this time, a much higher percentage of their shots will find their target, and two of them will touch the net.
