Note: As part of the new WWE blog, I'll be asking all of the B/R wrestling readers for questions for a new mailbag that I will post on Fridays. It will be a slideshow featuring 10-20 questions and answers on a wide range of topics. You can submit questions either through Formspring or Twitter, and the best ones will be answered in the B/R mailbag.
WWE News: Why the Company Is Reportedly Interested in Brock Lesnar and Batista
You may or may not have heard this, but there are rumors circulating around the Internet that two former WWE stars could be returning to the company soon.
I kid, I kid. Of course, you’re well aware by now that both Brock Lesnar and Batista have been linked to the WWE over the past few days, and the speculation is that either one or both of them is going to show up in a WWE ring in the near future.
The WWE’s reported interest in both Lesnar and Batista seemingly came out of nowhere just before WrestleMania 28, and now, we’re getting a better idea of why the WWE is looking to bring both of them in after long hiatuses.

From F4Wonline.com (via WrestleNewz.com):
"There was a fear within WWE that WrestleMania 28 would do good but things would quickly turn bad with top stars like Shawn Michaels, The Rock, Triple H and The Undertaker leaving this week. This is part of the reason why officials want to do something with Batista and Brock Lesnar.
"
It’s no secret that losing HBK, The Rock, Triple H and The Undertaker is really going to hurt the WWE, at least initially after WrestleMania 28. These guys have all played such a huge role on TV over the last couple of months, and when they’re gone, it’s going to leave a big gaping hole in WWE programming.
And make no mistake about it—they’re all going to be gone soon.
We probably won’t see The Undertaker again until the build to WrestleMania 29, Triple H is only going to come around every once in a while, there’s no telling if/when HBK will be back and The Rock is about to head back to Hollywood for his movie career.
In that aspect, it makes sense for the WWE to want to “replace” those legends with a couple of other huge names from the past. Both Lesnar and Batista are two of the most well-known wrestlers out there who haven’t had any recent involvement with the WWE and thus, could generate a ton of interest in the WWE when those other legends leave.
I have no problem with Batista and/or Lesnar being brought back in, as long as they become at least somewhat regulars on WWE TV and don’t completely overshadow the WWE’s younger stars.
The WWE does need to have legends around for the betterment of the company, but if Lesnar and/or Batista don’t wind up in the WWE after all, then the company can help improve the long-term future of the company by pushing its young, rising stars who are already under contract.
