Twitter Reacts to Lions RB Mikell Leshoure's Embarrassing Pot Fiasco

Andrew GardaJun 7, 2018

Reports are surfacing that second-year Detroit Lions running back Mikel LeShoure has been arraigned today on charges of possession of marijuana.

The overall aftershock will be felt later on once the case has been settled and Commissioner Goodell decides what LeShoure's punishment is, assuming he is found guilty.

The most—amazing? ridiculous? befuddling?—part of this report isn't that LeShoure was arrested or in trouble at all.

It's that when the car he was riding in was pulled over ,he—wait, let me have the Detroit Free Press' Dave Birkett explain it, since he's the one who alerted me to the report on 96.1 ESPN.

Yes, you read that right. LeShoure attempted to swallow his stash. Folks, you can't make that up.

This was, according to Birkett, LeShoure's second offense in the last two months. So no wonder he wasn't willing to go down without a bite.

Of course, you give Twitter something like that, and it can't help itself.

And finally, succinct:

LeShoure's troubles are likely just beginning, and certainly a huge disappointment to Lions fans everywhere. As with many athletes who find themselves in this situation, the simple fact is that he needs to make better decisions.

Or as Twitter would most definitely put it—he needs to get his head together before he sends his career up in smoke.

Yup. I went there.
