Eric Decker Gets Boost off the Field with Engagement to Jessie James

Gabe ZaldivarJun 1, 2018

From landing a Hall of Fame quarterback to throw you passes to being engaged to budding country star Jessie James, it's pretty damn good to be the Denver Broncos' Eric Decker

Think for a moment about how it would feel to have everything. Now you have a glimpse into the world as seen from Decker's point of view.

Fans of the Broncos, country music or just matrimony itself were given some good news on Sunday, as James reported on Twitter that she and her Broncos wide receiver boyfriend had become engaged.

"

Thank you all so much for the congrats on our engagement. We are blessed to have found each other and to have supporters like you all :)

— Jessie James (@TheJessicaJames) April 1, 2012"

As this is a sports site, let's pretend that many of you do not know who James is, or why you should care that Decker is about to spend forever with her.

Well, she is a country singer whose 2009 album Jessie James reached as high as No. 23 on the U.S. charts. More than that, she is easy on the eyes. And by easy on the eyes, I mean she is hot, like put-a-ring-on-that-finger-and-ask-questions-later hot.

Here is a music video of her song "When You Say My Name." Not my cup of tea, except for the copious amounts of her in teeny pajamas.

Oh, and then there is this Maxim photo shoot, for those of you who are into such things.

If that wasn't enough to fill up on some Haterade for Decker, consider that his next couple of seasons could be pretty fruitful.

The Broncos effectively switched out Tim Tebow, a quarterback who only completes passes when they seem preordained from above—which translates to half the time—to a quarterback that ranks among the best to ever play the game in Peyton Manning

With Manning tossing the ball around the yard, there will be plenty of opportunity for Decker to improve on his eight touchdowns and 612 yards in 2011.

If not, he has James to go home and sulk to, which may be the best way to sulk in the history of such things.
