WrestleMania 28 Results: What's Next Now That John Laurinaitis Is WWE GM?
Well, he did it. John Laurinaitis has achieved his dream of being the general manager for both Raw and SmackDown. This upcoming week will be the first official week in the Johnny Ace Era. So what can we expect from Mr. Excitement being the man to oversee the brands? Let's look back at the match that gave him that power in order to get a good understanding.
To keep it pretty basic, those who favored Team Teddy will likely be in for a hard time. This could mean some hostility with Santino Marella as United States champion. It would be a hard time for Kofi Kingston and R-Truth, a formidable tag team in WWE, to get a shot at Primo and Epico.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Who knows what could be happening to Booker T, who is used on SmackDown as an announcer. I don't quite see how The Great Khali can be messed with, but there's got to be a way. As for Zack Ryder, he will continue to have a hard time, while Eve may be revealed as a double agent and be commended for it.
On the opposite side of the coin, Team Johnny members will likely be rewarded. Picture title matches getting handed out like coupons. Drew McIntyre, with his changed attitude and no Teddy Long to ridicule his moves, can get poised for a hot streak. The Miz was on a cold streak, but got the winning pinfall at WrestleMania. Expect a world title match in the future for him. It also wouldn't be hard to see similar matches for Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler.
Mark Henry could be first in line for Sheamus and his World Heavyweight Championship with Johnny Ace in charge. As for David Otunga, his stock has soared with Laurinaitis winning. The sky is the limit for the legal consultant. Assistant WWE general manager sounds pretty good, but gold may just sound even better.
There are even some loose ends with this match that aren't quite clear just yet. What will be the fate of Aksana, a WWE employee without Long to protect her anymore? What will happen to The Bella Twins, who each had their own opinions on who should win? Will Hornswoggle even serve a purpose anymore and be fired by Laurinaitis? It would be as good of a reason as you'll get to remove him.
Then there is the matter of Christian, a superstar who should have been in this match. When returning from injury, will he get the "one more match" promised to him when he was a part of the team?
This doesn't even include those not involved in the match at all. Remember that guy named Alberto Del Rio? Well, if he is healthy and returns soon, Del Rio could be one of the first to enjoy the capabilities of the new general manager of the entire company. The former WWE champion could vault right back into the main event if the correct strings can get pulled.
Speaking of the WWE Championship, that honor is still bestowed upon CM Punk. Punk retained his championship at WrestleMania over a very game Chris Jericho. It was Punk who ran into a jubilant Team Johnny and had the first orders of the new boss. Laurinaitis ordered that if Punk got disqualified, the title would change hands anyway. Punk kept his cool just enough to remain eligible in the match. With a hometown of Chicago awaiting him in a few weeks, how will the new controller of Raw and SmackDown tip the scales away from Punk's favor?
Laurinaitis may even have a say now with other championships, especially those who were changing hands at WrestleMania. Cody Rhodes is no longer intercontinental champion, but has a pending rematch with Big Show. It may even be wiser for this to be the way for Rhodes to make a climb up to the main event and world title pictures. As for the former world champion himself, Daniel Bryan will argue that it was AJ who distracted him and caused such a short title match. Still, Bryan will get his second chance, as well as some other chances as well.
So, it's time for the Funk Man to rule both WWE brands. Let's all try to behave and control our level of excitement. Believe me, Johnny makes it look so easy.
