Wrestlemania 28 Results: Big Show Shakes His Past Demons with Dominant Victory

Austin GreenApr 2, 2012

The Big Show finally shut Cody Rhodes' big mouth.

Rhodes was talking plenty of smack heading into Sunday's showdown at WrestleMania 28. He constantly taunted Big Show for some of his more embarrassing moments on wrestling's biggest stage. He even referred to him as a "reverse Undertaker" because of his 3-8 record at WrestleMania (the Undertaker, of course, is undefeated at the event).

Rhodes, however, couldn't back up his talk when it counted. Big Show beat him down to earn the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

How He Did It

Naturally, Big Show's size was a major advantage. He outweighed Rhodes by over 200 pounds and he wasted little time in using his strength.

He came out aggressive, tossing Rhodes around the ring like a rag doll. Rhodes landed a few solid strikes, and he even had Big Show on the ground at one point. But with a couple huge slams and big right hand punches, Big Show finished off the former champ.

What It Means

With the win, Big Show takes the WWE Intercontinental Championship, which Rhodes held for seven months. He's now the 12th Grand Slam champion and 24th Triple Crown winner in the history of the sport.

It was clearly an emotional moment for Big Show, as he finally shook the demons that had haunted him at WrestleMania. It was a great win and a major addition to his already legendary résumé.
