WrestleMania 28 Lineup: Kane Brings Pain to Finish Randy Orton

Josh MartinApr 1, 2012

Try as he might, Randy Orton couldn't quite overcome Kane at WrestleMania XXVIII as the WWE's old guard held steady in Miami.

Orton appeared to be no match for the massive, masked menace at first, with Kane dominating his decidedly outsized competitor from the outset.

But despite a disadvantage of eight inches in height and nearly 100 pounds in weight, Orton was able to fight his way back, using his superior speed and agility to befuddle the increasingly clumsy Kane and level the playing field at Sun Life Stadium.

A tiresome back-and-forth left both men panting on the mat after nearly every move at one point during the match, with both competitors doing their darnedest to hang on for dear life and survive with his record intact.

That is until Orton, seemingly in position to send the 7' superstar down and out, let his guard down for a split second. That's all the time Kane needed to slip his humongous mitts onto Randy's throat and establish a steely vice grip before executing a devastating chokeslam.

And with what little life he had left, Kane climbed on top of Orton for the count, thereby bringing some closure to Kane's pursuit of revenge in light of a "weak" handshake back in July. Kane had attempted to exact such retribution just last month, though, in the end, there never could or would be a better stage on which to settle this seemingly silly score than at WrestleMania.
