WrestleMania 28: Daniel Byan Gets Buried by Sheamus and WWE
18 seconds.
That's how long it took for Sheamus to snag the WWE Heavyweight Title from Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania XXVIII in Miami. That set a world record for the fastest title-belt transfer in the history of the WWE.
It's only fitting, too, that Bryan's reign atop the wrestling world should be brought to such a swift end, seeing as how he held onto his title for all of three-and-a-half months and had only just incurred the wrath of Sheamus at the Elimination Chamber in February.

Bryan's hubris proved to be as responsible as anything for his quick undoing. The American Dragon took a moment at the very outset for a "good luck" kiss from his girlfriend, who was waiting for him at ringside.
But, as it turned out, that smooch turned out to be more deadly than anything else. Bryan had barely a moment to gather himself upon turning back around before Sheamus smacked him hard, sending him to the mat before a quick three-count sealed the deal and the shift in power.
The title's been a long time coming for Sheamus. The big Irishman set himself up for success at Royal Rumble XXV by surviving the 30-man match and earning the right to challenge for a championship. He waited until after Bryan retained his title at the Elimination Chamber to make his decision, but wasted no time prying the belt from Bryan's waist once the two stepped between the ropes.
Where Bryan goes from here is anyone's best guess, though one thing remains clear—he's already April's biggest fool.
